Living From The Tree of Life

Shevat: Living from the Tree of Life

Proverbs 3:18 She is a Tree of Life to those who grasp her, and whoever holds onto her will be blessed.

Psalm 1:3 He will be like a tree planted by streams of water, yielding its fruit in season, its leaf does not wither, and in whatever he does, he prospers.

Revelation 22:2 On either side of the river was the Tree of Life, producing twelve kinds of fruit, yielding its fruit every month. The leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.

Devotional Reflection

Shevat is known as the Month of Trees, a time when what has been hidden beneath the soil begins to awaken. Though winter may still cover the land, life is stirring at the roots. Sap begins to rise. Preparation for fruit has already begun—long before it can be seen.

From the beginning, Adonai revealed His heart through trees. In the center of the garden stood the Tree of Life, His provision for eternal fellowship, nourishment, and wholeness. When access was lost through disobedience, His plan was not abandoned—it was promised, revealed, and ultimately restored through Yeshua.

Scripture teaches us that wisdom is a Tree of Life. Righteous fruit is a Tree of Life. Healing words, fulfilled hope, and lives rooted in Torah reflect the very nature of that Tree. Shevat invites us to pause and examine what we are rooted in and what kind of fruit our lives are preparing to bear.

In Messiah, we are not striving to become fruitful—we are learning to abide. As living branches connected to the Tree of Life, we draw nourishment from His Word, His Spirit, and His covenant faithfulness. Even when seasons appear barren, Adonai is at work below the surface, strengthening roots, refining character, and preparing future harvest.

Shevat reminds us that life flows upward from the roots before it ever appears in the branches. When our lives are rooted in Yeshua—the Living Torah—we will bear fruit in season, and our leaves will bring healing to others.

Reflection Question

As you enter the Month of Trees, what is Adonai inviting you to strengthen at the root of your life so that future fruit may glorify Him?

🙏

Closing Prayer

Abba Father,

I thank You for the season of Shevat and for the reminder that You are always at work, even when I cannot see it. Root my life deeply in Your truth. Prune anything that does not bear fruit and nourish what brings You glory. Teach me to abide in Yeshua, the Tree of Life, so that my life will produce righteousness, healing, and wisdom in every season. May Your river of life flow through me and bring blessing to others.

In the name of Yeshua, Amen.
